AALF Bids Farewell to Dr. Lamar Hylton

Members of the AALF Board of Directors –

I write to share with you that I have accepted an offer to become the Dean of Students at Kent State University in Kent, OH. My last day at the University of Minnesota will be Friday, May 19 with an anticipated start date at Kent of June 1. This new role is another step in my professional trajectory and, on a personal note, brings me geographically closer to my family in Columbus. This is truly a bittersweet and emotional moment for me. Ultimately, this decision is what’s best for me and my family at this point in our lives.

Effective immediately, I am resigning my position from the board of directors of the African American Leadership Forum. I truly appreciate the opportunity to have served with such a dynamic team of Black leaders here in the Twin Cities. You all have contributed positively to my development and I thank you for allowing me to serve alongside you during my time here. I look forward to seeing the great progress AALF will continue to make!

Best,

Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D.
