Dr. Reba Peoples
As a board-certiﬁed psychiatrist with additional training in trauma and attachment systems, Dr. Peoples provides a unique perspective on the evolutionary and neurobiological underpinnings of unconscious bias as they relate to attachment and community systems. Dr. Peoples is board-certiﬁed via the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her Psychiatric Residency training via the Hennepin-Regions Psychiatry Training Program in Minneapolis/St. Paul and earned her medical degree from The Medical College of Ohio. Her bachelor’s degree is from the University of Toledo. Dr. Peoples is actively involved in community advocacy and education regarding the impact of toxic stress and historical trauma as well as the importance of proper self-care.
Jeffrey A. Hassan
Mr. Hassan is the Executive Director of the African American Leadership Forum and has provided Unconscious Bias training to lawyers, law enforcement, corporations, human resource directors and non-proﬁt leaders. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and was an adjunct faculty member in Trial Advocacy at Howard University Law School. He also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Advanced Trial Advocacy program at William Mitchell College of Law. Mr. Hassan is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers. He has volunteered at the National Urban League, Minneapolis Urban League, St. Paul Urban League, St. Paul Urban Coalition and Ramsey County O.I.C.
John Stanoch has been active in the Twin Cities community as a corporate, government and nonprofit leader, and brings a well-rounded perspective on unconscious bias, as it relates to the public, private and nonprofit sectors. John served as a Hennepin County District Court judge from 1991 to 1998, and during that time he was President of Minnesota District Judges Association, Assistant Chief Judge for the Fourth Judicial District, Presiding Judge for the Hennepin County Juvenile Court, and Criminal Assigning Judge for the Fourth Judicial District. Before joining the bench, John was Minnesota's Chief Deputy Attorney General. John recently served as Interim CEO of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, Interim President of the Science Museum of Minnesota, and is the former President and CEO of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Area.
