This experiential workshop will teach you everything that you need to know about making body butters and organic deodorant that contain all natural and organic ingredients. These natural and safe ingredients are a smart and healthy replacement for the chemical ingredients found in most manufactured products.


The ART of Wellness

Taught by Reba Peoples, M.D., founder if Imara Health and Wellness.

Description: In this session, we will explore the wellness practices that will enable you to recognize and build on the cultural strengths that will enable you to become a steward of your own health and architect of your own destiny. Using SMART wellness as a framework, you will learn how to develop an awareness practice that allows you to combat stress and cultivate a sense of calm and ease, even in the face of daily stressors.


Exploring Our Spiritual Roots

Taught by Ebony Adedayo, founder and creator of the Kinky Curly Theological Collective, a space that centers the experience of African and African American women, grounded in healing justice, liberation and community health and wellness.

Description: At this session, we will spend time unpacking the practices, rituals, stories, and beliefs that have undergirded our faith journeys. This session will provide opportunity for women to deepen their own practices and explore in writing how these practices can strengthen their emotional and spiritual well-being.


Held Memories, Hidden Truths: Exploring the Healing Power of Movement

Taught by Felicia Perry, ARTrepreneur specializing in movement, fashion, design, performance art, and curating spaces. Felicia Has danced professionally as a member of Ananya Dance Theatre (ADT) since January, 2017. Her work with ADT includes facilitating workshops combining movement and social justice.

Description: In this workshop series, participants will learn how the body holds trauma and explore the seemingly magical ability of the body to heal if given the conditions to do so. We will understand the importance of movement as a tool for healing, learn ways to identify how and where we are holding tension or trauma in our bodies and explore grounding techniques and movements that help facilitate releasing traumatic energy from the body. Please note that we will be free of shoes for this activity. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move and stretch.
