AALF Is Growing And Welcomes New Full Time Staff Members To Its Team

[MINNEAPOLIS—MAY 5, 2022] African American Leadership Forum Twin Cities is pleased to announce the following personnel moves and staff promotions strengthening its capacity in the functions of Administration, Amplification and Network Alignment.

Ingrid Sabah joins the AALF Administration team as a Senior Director of Operations. In this role she will oversee structures, systems and processes that ensure organizational effectiveness. Ingrid is a skilled connector, a natural curator of community, and passionate change agent who finds inspiration in people and possibilities. She brings a wealth of leadership experience to identifying new opportunities and strategizing successful partnerships.

Ingrid has worked closely with organizations of all kinds, from high-growth digital startups, mission-driven nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to AALF, Ingrid was a business development leader driving growth at the intersections of creative and strategy within the fields of marketing and advertising. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Strategic Communications with minors in Social Justice and African American studies.

Brittany Travis joins the AALF Amplification team as a Senior Director of Communications & Marketing. In this role she will oversee the strategic development and management of AALF’s communication, marketing, and public relations functions.

Over the course of her career, Brittany has worked alongside a variety of Fortune 500 companies, federal institutions, and start-ups in the coordinated production and launch of national multi-media campaigns. With roots in both rural and metro Minnesota, she has a passion for creating impactful connections and opportunities for learning with strong interest in youth leadership development, education equity and entrepreneurship. Brittany also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.

Niila Hebert has been promoted to Vice President of Network Alignment. She has been working at AALF as a senior program director for more than a year. Niila recently led the org’s successful “Community Safety” panel discussion event. If you missed that discussion, you can watch the video of that event here.

In other personnel changes, it was announced that CEO Marcus Owens will be leaving AALF, but he will continue to serve the organization in an advisory role. Vice President of Administration Shanaya Dungey and Vice President of Amplification Marc Watts will serve as interim Co-CEO’s, while a search is underway to find Marcus’ full-time successor.
