Announcing the African American Leadership Forum’s 5th Annual Gala Breakfast Celebration
Collaboration: The Four Personas of Leadership will bring together 500+ social innovators from across Minnesota to explore leadership dynamics
MINNEAPOLIS, August 16th, 2019 — the African American Leadership Forum (AALF), an organization of over 1,500 African Americans working to solve critical challenges facing the Black community, will hold their 5th Annual Gala breakfast celebration, Collaboration: The Four Personas of Leadership. The Gala will be held at the University of Minnesota (McNamara Alumni Center) on Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., led by a panel of leaders from across the Twin Cities, and hosted by T. Mychal Rambo (Actor/Singer) with performances by Jamecia Bennett (Actor/Singer) and local talent.
This year’s theme will focus on AALF’s four leadership personas (Thought Leader, Influencer, Builder, and Ambassador) and provides attendees with the opportunity to network with creative changemakers in the African American community. Panel members include:
- Caroline Wanga (Target): Wanga is a Vice President and Chief Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Target. She leads Target’s strategic intent to champion an inclusive society with accountability for inclusive guest experiences, a diverse and inclusive work environment, and societal impact.
- Al McFarlane (Insight Media): Media Executive Al McFarlane worked as a reporter for the St. Paul Pioneer Pressbefore moving to General Mills where he worked as the Community Relations Coordinator from 1971-1972. He has worked with Midwest Public Relations (Division of Graphic Services) and in 1974 became Editor-in-Chief of Insight News.
- Reuben Moore (Minnesota Community Care): Over the past 18 years, Moore has co-created new pathways for value expansion within large, medium-sized and small organizations. As a health industry leader, he has championed an optimization of consumer experience, disruptive innovations, partnerships and fundamental execution throughout the healthcare ecosystem.
- Shawntera M. Hardy is founder of PolicyGrounds Consulting, a strategic management firm working at the intersection of public policy, organizational effectiveness, and economic development. Shawntera is an award-winning policy professional and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in government affairs, healthcare access, economic and workforce development, environmental sustainability, city planning, and international affairs.
