Fellowships
Our fellowships are an important opportunity for professional development while working to realize racial justice and equity. As a think-and-do tank, we use a variety of methods, from research to community-driven discourse to design solutions that will improve the lives of every Black Minnesotan. We want to support the next generation of leaders.
JOSIE R. JOHNSON
Leadership Academy
Leadership is more than a role—it’s a legacy. The Dr. Josie R. Johnson Leadership Academy (JRJLA) is a transformative fellowship for Black leaders in Minnesota who are ready to lead with purpose, reclaim joy, and reimagine what’s possible. Rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors and the legacy of civil rights pioneer Dr. Josie R. Johnson, JRJLA provides a sacred space for visionaries, bridge-builders, and change agents to grow, heal, and lead boldly. Because leadership isn’t just about service—it’s about self-care, empowerment, and shaping a future where we thrive.
